I haven't blogged on this in a long while, I just found out about a death of a dear online friend. She died on December 27th 2007 as a result of result of injuries sustained in a highway traffic accident.  Here's to the memory of you, Jilly. Rest in peace.

What's a fetish?

I recently got this question from an ex-girlfriend. I was pretty surprised she asked now because I had tried my best through the years together, to explain the ideology behind fetishm and bdsm in general. Also because at the time she claimed my fetishm was one of the main reason for our breakup.

Okay enough about that, what's a fetish anyway ?
In my case, I have always been aroused with some types of pvc raingear and latex clothes. So by definition that would be my fetish. There's a huge array of fetishes out there and to name a few:

Clothes, material/style:
Uniform fetish (schoolgirl, French maid, nurse, cop), shoe fetishm, jeans fetishm, leather/latex.

Body parts:
Breast fetish, foot fetishm, hair fetishm, hand fetishm, buttocks fetishm.

These are just a few examples of common fetishes. I often wonder why some fetishes are more so "accepted" by the general public than others ? Such as a nurse.. it seems perfectly "legitimate" to fantasize about a girl dressed as a nurse. But when the fantasy evolves about her being in a gasmask, high heels and wearing a leather whip. That's considered kinky and somewhat out of the "norm". I do hope the general public will accept fetishm in general and make no discrimination between fetishes.

Hopefully will blogs like this, public fetish events such as Skin Two's Rubber Ball will help educate people and help us feel less "alone".

Libidex rubber catsuit

I was in London the other day on a short visit. I took the opportunity to pre-order a catsuit and hood. I decided to go for made-to-measure catsuit.

After reading alot of reviews I decided to go for a Libidex catsuit and a seperate hood. The order was quite costly, about $700. I managed to save the postal cost and customs by picking up my order at their shop in London, which was very convienent.

After getting back home to Iceland I tried the suit out, I was pretty excited to see the fit of the suit. There's only one word needed for the making of the suit and the fit.. "perfection!"

When in London I tried out my new hood and it was like the suit, just a perfect fit. And it's so wonderfully designed. I went to a quite few fetish shops in London but no one could really match the Libidex hood.

All in all I am really happy with my new purchase and look forward to countless hours of rubbery fun :)

Recent play

In a recent rubberplay my mistress had me wear my latex underneath two layers of rainwear. It goes without saying there was alot of sweat :)

Latex for meditation and enlightenment

I came across a website which discusses the spiritual aspects of latex and fetishm. The author raises quite a few interesting points, connecting the spiritual aspects of Yoga and latex fetishm. The author states:

"I hope that this site can help the mankind to understand that latex is much more than just a sexual spleen, but something that can be a very valuable tool for meditation, self- realization and spiritual development."

Although I am pointing out this website, that doesn't mean I agree to everything he says there, but I think it's interesting to read his views on this subject.

Catwoman to the rescue!

I guess the latex fetish "world" made a giant leap forward because of Michelle Pfeiffer's character in the movie Batman Returns. I don't know *ANYONE* who doesn't agree she looked awesome in the latex catsuit and the suit was *hot!*.

After the Batman movie there have been some more latex clad heroes on the big screen, such as Kate Beckensale's character in the Underworld movies. I certainly think these latex clad super heroes help spread the word for us and make our fetishm more "acceptable" to the general (vanilla) public. What do you think ??

You're not alone...

I am now in my mid 30's and my fetish thoughts go back at least till the age of 12. For years I felt so alone in this world, really thought something was *wrong* with me just because I hadn't the same "vanilla" interest as my friends did. Luckily I came across some fetish magazine when travelling in Europe and that was clearly a defining moment in my life! I was SO relieved. I knew then there were more "like me" - with interest in latex, rubber, bdsm etc.. in some form or another.

My idea for this blog is to post some of my thoughts on this subject and the things going on the rubberized part of my life :) I'd love to hear from you!
